Easter Bra Hunt

It's Eastertime, so what about a bit of hunting through your bra drawer to discover any bras you haven't worn in a while or have grow out of or maybe have worn a bit too much etc and donate them to you local Oxfam this April.

☆

Oxfam wants your bras so they can send most of them to Senegal where they run 'Frip Ethique' – a social enterprise where people earn a good living by sorting and selling donated clothes.
Bras raise more money than any other item – and the profits generated by the business get invested in their work fighting poverty in Senegal.
Some bras they will also sell in their UK shops to raise money for their work around the world.

You've got till the end of April

The Bras are out in LA . . .

I love seeing a well thought through visible bra strap look and LA seems to be full of them at the moment.

☆

Just a couple of tips girls.
Miranda, I hope you weren't entertaining any serious physical jerks in the gym as that looks like a push up bra and it ain't gonna do much! and Kim, I don't know what you actually do but you wear a neon sports bra well.

Horniman Museum: The Body Adorned

While having dinner at a friends last week they happened to mention that one of their highlights of South London was the Horniman Museum and Gardens.
Now, I've heard about this museum intermittently through my
years of living in London but never visited. A new exhibition just launched there may just be about to change that.

☆

The Body Adorned exhibition reveals how a diverse population clothe and adorn their bodies to find their place in a city.
Over time, saris, tattoo parlours, nail bars, distended ears and scarification have become a visible, everyday part of the London cityscape.

The exhibition considers how the movement of people, objects and ideas influenced London dress in the past and explores body adornment in today’s world city of London.Ultimately they invite
you to look at how you dress your body and why.

The exhibition features hundreds of stunning objects from the Horniman’s collections including adorned figures, early tattooing instruments and headdresses, a film installation by The Light Surgeons, several wardrobes of London residents exploring why they wear what they wear and urban street portraits taken by young people.

the exhibition runs until the 6th January 2013 so you have plenty of time to organise a trip there.
Together with the gardens, the eccentric year round taxidermy  exhibition and free admission its a great visit for kids too!

under.me : Bar Refaeli launches Underwear line

Nowadays we are not short of choice in the underwear market with a myriad of colours, prints and patterns. So it's nice to refocus and go back to basics for a moment and this is just what Bar Refaeli has done with her debut underwear line.
☆

After years of modelling some of the world’s most luxurious clothes, famously dating Hollywood A-lister Leonardo De Caprio and most recently known as the face of Passionata Lingerie. World renowned model and actress Bar Refaeli has turned her attention to what lies underneath clothes.
The underwear collection Bar has created captures her easy relaxed, natural style perfectly.
Simple, modern pieces perfect for everyday life.

The range has vests, shorts and Tees for men and women with really cute pictures of Bar wearing the mens collection giving a subtle unisex feel.
The colour offer is black, white and a pale nude, grey marl and charcoal.
Cotton is the main fabric with a dash of lycra for fit and comfort and the knickers are cotton and modal mix so ultra soft.

As yet the collection is only available to order through the website but watch this space...

'Its been fantastic to be involved from the very beginning; designing what I believe is a premium yet affordable underwear range that is simple, comfortable and stylish. I, like a lot of people, look and feel my best when I'm comfortable. Underneath my clothes is the real me and I want the underwear to compliment my figure not steal the limelight' says Bar Refaeli
